Cambodian weddings can sometimes take days to complete, numerous ceremonies such as the 'haircutting' and bracelet tying ceremony among others share their roots to the 'village' days. Nowadays, wedding ceremony’s have modernized to a certain extent with a bridge of ceremonies. Regardless of the times, one can see by the video below and the various photos, that the wedding dress/style is breathtaking.

As seen from the photos below, numberous traditional and non-traditional type dresses are available. Below are photos of typical Cambodian wedding style dress for both men and women. Typically, a "kaben" (see silk cloth) is worn with matching shirt then covered with an traditional sbaay (sash-like accessory). Other types of dresses available are a complete 1 piece dress. Wedding Traditions

The legend of Preah Thaong and Neang Neak explains much of Khmer wedding customs, in which the groom carries the bride's scarf, symbolizing he is from afar and is marrying into her family. In contradiction to Indian wedding customs where the bride holds the groom's scarf, as the case for Khmers, the groom is whom stays with the bride's family. In accordance with the Khmer wedding ritual weddings take three days. The bride and groom wear garments decorated with jewelery and are surrounded by family and guests. The bride and groom wear garments as a sign of respect to their parents and parents in law, both of which offer their blessing to the couples. They also pray to the monks for a happy life. Nowadays most Khmers in Cambodia and foreign countries celebrate with both traditional Khmer and western style weddings.

How to measure youself...

Bust Measurement

Measure the bustline at the fullest part of your chest. Stand naturally with your heels together. Let your arms rest by the side of your body. Position the tape so it covers the widest part of the back and the fullest part of your chest. Keep a thumb in the inside of the tape.

Waist Measurement

Place your hands at your natural waistline. This is where the tape should be positioned. Stand with your stomach at its natural position. Leave a little room by keeping a thumb on the inside of the tape. Do not pull the tape tight.

Hip Measurement

Stand naturally with your heels together in a relaxed posture. If you are measuring for a sheath dress, position the tape around the fullest part of your bottom. If you are measuring for an A-line dress, position the tape around the fullest part of your hip. Leave a little room by keeping a thumb on the inside of the tape. Do not pull the tape tight.
